Greystar California agrees to revise tenant screening statewide after fair housing complaint

Housing watchdog files 114 voucher-discrimination complaints against Greystar with seven state and D.C. agencies

Housing Rights Initiative filed complaints with the Virginia OAG, California CRD, Maryland Commission on Civil Rights, Hawai'i Civil Rights Commission, Michigan DCR, New Jersey DCR and D.C. Office of Human Rights alleging 114 violations of source-of-income laws. The complaints allege, based on undercover testing, that Greystar properties rejected Housing Choice Voucher holders, imposed unlawful conditions, and refused to count voucher assistance toward income requirements.
